Welcome to the World’s Largest Military Air Show Welcome to Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, home of the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing and host of the largest Air Show in the country. This year’s air show is the anchor event of Fleet Week San Diego, a patriotic celebration hosted by America’s Finest City. I encourage you to enjoy yourself at our air show, and also to attend the other exciting events during this wonderful tribute to our Nation’s service members. This year, for the first time in 35 years, the United States Air Force Thunderbirds will be performing at MCAS Miramar. The Thunderbirds are commemorating the 60th anniversary of the U.S. Air Force and promise an exciting performance. This year’s air show will focus on the joint power of military aviation. During the Air Show you will also enjoy the stunning acrobatic aerial performances of numerous civilian and various military aviators. To complement these aerial performances, the flight line will be alive with static displays, military equipment exhibits, air show memorabilia, and plenty of refreshments. During the air show you will have the opportunity to spend time with our military’s most important asset - our service members. Talking with these brave young men and women will reveal their dedication and passion for protecting our Nation and our way of life. Whether forward deployed fighting the Global War on Terrorism in places like Iraq and Afghanistan, or training here in Southern California, these tremendous young Marines, Sailors, Soldiers, Airmen, and Coast Guardsmen are America’s most valuable citizens. We also salute the military families who continue to support their loved ones as they stand in harm’s way. Most importantly, please take a moment to honor those men and women who have sacrificed their lives to preserve the freedoms enjoyed by Americans everywhere. Thank you for your great support of MCAS Miramar’s Marines and Sailors and for joining us for the 2007 MCAS Miramar Air Show: “Thunderbirds over Miramar – The Sound of Freedom.”
Semper Fidelis,
